Pretribulation Rapture Doctrine and the Catholic Church

James Hough studied in the seminary, teaches Catholicism to converts stated about pretribulation rapture of the church:

"Well let me explain the Catholic Church's understanding of the rapture and of the tribulation;

The Protestant idea of Rapture is an anti-Christian, anti-Biblical doctrine dreamed up by Protestants in the last couple centuries based on the visions of a young scottish girl in the 19th century. They have since built it into an entire system that is totally without foundation.

From what I understand Rapturists believe that Christ is going to come take them out of the world before the real suffering begins, so that unlike their savior, will not have to suffer. It gets more bizarre, they do not think the Jews need to convert and follow Christ, but are an a "seperate tract" of salvation, and will inherit an earthly kingdom, while all the good Christians are raptured up to heaven.

It is also important to note that to be a Christian involves not knowing when the end will come. Anyone who says that the end will happen this year, next year, or whenever is no longer a Christian in good standing."

Francis Marsden 39years priest with Cambridge chemistry doctrine stated about pretribulation rapture of the church:

"The notion of pretribulation rapture is a fake doctrine invented in the 19th century. It is not in the Apostolic Depostion of Faith. None of the Fathers or Saints over 18 centuries speak of it. No general council of the chucrh has ever put it forward as a doctrine.

It rises out of mis-interpretations of the Book of Revelation, which has long been a happy hunting ground for unbalanced souls. These unfortunately refuse to listen to the church Jesus Christ founded, which still speaks his name. Instead they go off and form their own unauthorised sects and perhaps unwittingly, disseminate falsehoods.

The only "rapture" that will come is on the Last Day, when Jesus will visibly return in glory with all his angels. The dead will be raised and all humanity will be summoned before the eternal throne for the last judgement."

A Born-again Christian can not be part of the Catholic Chruch. Those who are Catholic don't go to heaven due to the heresies that they follow. Why then listen to anyone who is Catholic for truth about the rapture of the church.

The Council of Ephesus

431AD, The Council of Ephesus: The Catholic Church decreed and condemned Pretribulation Rapture of the Church Doctrine as heresy. Books and any manuscripts up to that time are destroyed or altered. Anyone caught teaching that the church will be raptured before the 7 year tribulation was tortured and burned at the stake. Up to the 15th century.

Visions of Margaret MacDonald

Here is the statement by Margaret MacDonald, that many claimed she got from visions about the rapture of the church. Note: that it is all about a post-tribulation rapture and not a pre-tribulation rapture of the church, that many falsely try to use to claim pretribulation rapture doctrine as heresy.

"Tis only those that are alive in him that will be caught up to meet him in the air. I saw the people of GOD in an awfully dangerous situation, many about to be deceived and fall. Now will The Wicked be revealed with all power, and signs, and lying wonders, so that if it were possible the very elect will be deceived. This is the fiery trial, which is to try us. It will be for the purging and purifying of the real members of the body of JESUS. The love of many will wax cold. Now shall the awful sight of a false Christ be seen for it is with all deceivableness of unrightousness he will work. This is particulary the nature of the trial through , which those are to pass, who will be counted worthy to stand before the Son of Man. The trial of the church is from the Antichrist! It is being filled with the Spirit that we shall be kept. This will fit us to enter into the marriage supper of the lamb."

Understanding Salvation not taught by Catholic Church

ABCs of Salvation are:

1. ADMIT you are a sinner (Romans 3:23)

2. BELIEVE Jesus died and rose again to pay for your sins (Romans 5:8)

3. CONFESS Jesus is Lord of your life. Putting your total trust in Jesus as your only hope of Salvation (Romans 10:9)

Salvation by Grace through our faith in JESUS!

Ephesians 2:8-10:

"For by Grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ JESUS unto good works, which GOD hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

That is Salvation for the born-again Christian.

The reason for the 7 yr Tribulation given to Daniel

Daniel 9:24:

"Seveny weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins and to make reconciliation of iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy."

Salvation for the Jewish people comes through understanding who their true messiah is and come to obedience to him. During the 7yr tribulation many will be martyred for their faith in JESUS.

Pretribulation Rapture of the Church does mean escape the 7yr Tribulation

JESUS himself taught that about rapture of the church escaping the 7yr tribulation, which is something the Catholic Church denies.

LUKE 21:34-36;

"And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life,and so that day come upon you unawares.

For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."

REVELATION 3:10-11;

"Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."

Note: The crown that JESUS refers to is the Crown of Righteousness described by Paul.

2Timothy4:8

"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

The Historical Concept of Pretribulation Rapture of the Church

The Pretribulation Rapture of the Church is not a new concept, but was a teaching that came directly from the Apostles themselves.

This list will begin before 1830 and turn all the way back to the 1st century AD.

1.1792 Thomas Scott taught that the righteous will be carried to Heaven, where they will be secure , until the time of the judgement is over.

2.1763 James Macknight also taught that the righteous will be carred to Heaven, where they will be secure, until the time of the judgement is over.

3.1748 John Gil( commentary on the New Testament) teaches of the imminent return of Christ, firstly in Rapture, and then He will return again to judge the earth(Armageddon).

4.1744 Morgan Edwards(founder of the Ivy League school, Brown University) wrote of his pretribulation rapture beliefs.

5.1738 Philip Doddridge(commentary on the New Testament) teaches of a pretribulation rapture.

6.1687 Peter Jurieu(Approaching Deliverance of the Church) Christ would return during the Rapture and take His saints to Heaven and later return at the Battle of Armageddon.

7.1748 Isaac Wyatts(know as the father of the english hymn) wrote of his pretribulation rapture belief.

8.1674 Thomas Collier makes reference in the belief to the pretribulation rapture.

9. 99AD Clement of Rome wrote a letter to the Corinthians also know as " I Clement"

SUMMARY

The Catholic Church tried to stop Pretribulation Rapture Doctrine, which came from JESUS himself. Passed through his Apostles to us today, they failed. Those teaching anything other than the pretribulation rapture of the church are damned, because they are denying JESUS himself coming for his bride. JESUS states in Matthew 10:33 the following;

"But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."

Do not listen to mens teachings, but look to the scriptures with prayer for guidence from the Holy Spirit to understand what GOD wants you to know. There is only one rapture of the church and that is the pretribulation rapture.
